Woot! This looks amazing - what is up with internet television lately? Between this, the Nerdist Channel and Geek And Sundry, there are so many good shows that are ramping up. Who needs a cable box? NOT I! (But I have one anyway).
How can I not post the trailer for a documentary in which Jason Bateman and Will Arnett go to a spa together? I’m grinning because that sentence even exists, let alone the film itself. Can’t wait to see this!
I was blown away by this article on the various global versions of Married… With Children over at Neatorama. Apparently, even 25 years later, global versions of the series continue to air new episodes - the publicity stills are crazy! I guess the show’s basic premise of put-upon father and husband, gold-digging lazy wife, slutty daughter, bratty son and dog (plus two uptight newlywed neighbors) is pretty universal.
So tomorrow I get to be in the same room with Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell and listen to them talk about one of my all-time favourite shows, Quantum Leap, thanks to the miracle of sci-fi conventions. In honour of that, I’ve put together this photoset honouring one of my favourite things about Scott Bakula - the fact that I can’t think of him without thinking of the many, many ridiculous costumes and situations he was in on that show. Enjoy!
Okay this documentary looks seriously cool, if only for the chance to see Tom Kenny do his Spongebob voice and Billy West do Zoidberg. I still can’t believe that the voice of Fry is also the voice of Zoidberg - outstanding!
So Joss Whedon did a Reddit AMA and as usual was so witty that it made me want to give up ever saying anything, ever. The two questions here made me giggle particularly hard. You can read the entire AMA (which is full of the craziest fan-drooling and gawping I’ve ever seen in real life in INTERNET form) here.
Having read Live From New York, the fantastic oral history of SNL by Tom Shales and James Miller, I was already aware of some of these incidences and stories about Chevy Chase’s legendary dickishness, but some of them are completely new to me and pretty insane.
If you enjoyed my last post, here’s a much goofier 16 bit take on Battlestar Galactica (again with amazing chiptunes recreations of Bear McCreary’s music from the show). SPOILERS!!!!!!
This is absolutely amazing - a 16 bit SNES version of the Eleventh Doctor’s era of Doctor Who complete with chiptunes versions of the music of Murray Gold! Thank you internet for allowing such things to be possible! SPOILERS!!!!!!!
So Aziz Ansari got to do the inaugural lawn mowing for the year in Central Park and received the key to Central Park from the city’s Parks and Rec department. Adorable!
"Enthusiasm for what exactly?" you may be asking. Well, the answer is television and pop culture mostly, but also occasionally other things like podcasts, history, Doctor Who, SF/F Fandom, and knitting. Basically, this site is a place to store whatever is on my mind grapes.
